I think spit is OK (I never tried that, but I read that it is safe). Lotion works well too, but I don't think it would be good to use if you will have sex afterward. Anything but soap should be good. Soap can damage your skin.

Well from what I know, I would say you should try the warming sensation k.y jelly. My ex loved it during sex, but I think it would be great for masturbating as well. TRY IT!
