The Bingham Copper Mine in Utah may be deeper than that, but that is a big hole. Only bigger hole I know of is Hillary Clinton. She visited Alaska not long ago and was photographed with some Inuit Eskimoes, and the natives stated that as she was standing near a frozen mine, they didn't know which was the bigger "icehole", Hillary or the mine!

Nah, I think there's a copper pit in Salt Lake City, Utah that's actually the biggest "hole" in the world.

It might be this, a crater 35km across although not as deep as the hole you pointed out.
