This new policy of not offending people has failed.

Please tell me how Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam discriminate against people, but the theory of evolution doesn't. I'd appreciate your comments.

Yes it offends me deeply. We did not come from monkeys in the first place. If that was so, there would not be any monkeys on the face of this earth because they would have already turned into people. I don't believe in evolution and never will.

I believe that God created Adam and Eve. I believe the Bible is truth. So therefore I am a firm believer in God, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Do you remember Roe vs Wade? I do.

First off religion is not taught in public schools due to "separation of church and state". And while this is not spelled out in so many words in the constitution, the meaning of our founding fathers was clear and has been upheld by the supreme court. There are no laws against sending you children to a religious school, just against public schools teaching a religious belief.
Evolution is not a religious belief, it is a scientific theory, and for all those how don't know what a theory is:
Theory: A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.
All science if founded on this principle it is called the "scientific method". And no matter how much you might dislike it evolution is science.
Creationism and Intelligent Design are not science, they are belief systems and do not require facts or evidence to proof or disprove them. They predict nothing and therefore are not taught in our public school systems.
The theory of evolution does not discriminate anymore than other scientific theories discriminate, for example does the theory of gravity discriminate (some women would say yes)? Does the electrical theory that lead to the development of you computer discriminate? How about thermodynamics or aerodynamics? They are all scientific theories.
Again should be stop all learning? should be only teach religion and if so who's??

I believe that God created evolution, and evolution itself is still a theory but it is also the scientific basis for life on earth, so I don't see why it's offensive. Public school teaches it for a reason, creationisms are for private or home-school. It's all about the separation of church and state, and I believe that is a good rule. I also believe, however, that displays of the Ten Commandments outside courtrooms and such should stay, because aren't those things originally decided by local and state governments anyway? If they didn't want that conflict, it should not have been displayed in the first place.

i wish i could help, but i'm on your side. the answers you get will say that evolution is science and is "this close" to being fact. Fact is that NOBODY was around or taking notes when the Earth began, so there can be no real answer to how things became and how we have become what we are today. Frankly, almost everything is an opinion of somebody so if we don't want to offend anybody, it's best we just don't say anything at all.

I feel that we should teach all sides of the 'story' religion (all of them) in RE and evolution in science. The beliefs are done to the individual so they should at least be giving the knowledge.
You are always going to offend someone, so should we stop teaching sex ed. caus esome people will be offended by it, my answer to that is no.

I really don't know how you can get away with this giant Adult Fairytale!
BEATS ME!!

I think the only way I could get away with teaching the drivel is to wear and hide behind thick sunglasses!!
My conscience might be further blinded... Certainly, my mind would be!!

Personally, I like Rod Vaughan's answer!

Evolution is happening right now all around you. It is proven that survival of the fittest and natural selection is still happening as I write. You my friend shave the hair off of your face as not to look like a monkey and are in serious denial!

It does offend me. We did not evolve from monkeys. It says in the Bible that God created Adam, then took a rib from him to create Eve.

Evolution is backed with SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE. Learning about religion is fine in a social studies class, but NOT a science class.

As my biology teacher used to say -- you don't teach evolution in church, do you?
