Volunteering from his home. I know shut in's around out area help by calling blood donors for the Red Cross I work for. It's easy and alot of fun and they are making a tremendous impact in their community. They make a few calls a night to set up apponitments at local blood drives.

he is able to run a computer? Maybe a lap top that he can use easily. This will bring the world into him, since he can't get out much into the world.

Does he enjoy crafts or wood work? Maybe something that he has to complete will give him a goal to work on.

Also i enjoy reading and puzzles, that sandanko I tink ti's called, with all the numbers is fun.

A window garden is also nice. They sell the box gardens in many stores.

Well you could see that he has good books to read . There are also jigsaw puzzles that would take some time off his hands. Cross word puzzes, it would keep his mind alert. If he has someone to play with checkers would be another. I used to take care of an elderly man and we played a lot of checkers. Sometimes I would fall asleep before his next move but was working two jobs. That would be a few suggestions.Good luck and God Bless you for caring so much. You will be rewarded for caring.

There are voulenteers that go out to homes of elderly people and read to them or spend time with them. My grandmother was really sick, and when we couldn't be there she played pocket video games like poker or solitaire.
