Click the right-hand mouse button on an empty section of your desktop, and left-click Properties. Then click the Settings tab at the top of this windows, and under "Screen Resolution" on this page, select 1024x768 or 800x600. Click OK at the bottom, and your screen should chage back to what you want.

It sounds like your desktop settings are at a high resolution. To resolve this, follow these steps.
1) minimize all open windows, but this one {click the minus sign at the top right of each}
2) on this window, make it so you can see the desktop {click the button beside the minimize button till it has only 1 box}
3) right click on an empty space on your desktop background
4) left click on 'properties'
5) left click on the 'settings' tab
6) under 'Screen Resolution' move the bar to the left.
7) click 'Apply'
8) click 'OK'

Right-click on the desktop, choose properties, and then look for the "settings" tab (to the far right). Here you can change the resolution, I suggest you drag the slider to the left, which will make the screen "bigger".
Or did I misunderstand you?

Right click on desktop. Click Properties. Go to Settings tab, and move the slider where it says "screen resolution." Experiment with different levels until you get what you want.
