It's possible. English fork lore speaks of dragons in much of the literature. It's possible that a from of prehistoric lizard existed more than a 1000 years ago and was finally killed off during that period.

Hi!
I think so. There is a great doumentary out there called "Dragons: A Fanatasy Made Real". It is awesome, awesome!
It explains how scientist believe dragons could fly and breathe fire, etc. And the DVD even explores the possibility that dragons did exist at one time and what might have made them become extint.
There is two versions of the DVD out. One is the international version, the other is the Animal Planet Version.
"Dragon's World: A Fantasy Made Real" is the international version and is narrated by Ian Holm from The Lord of the Rings movies. You can buy the DVD on Amazon for under $18.00.
"Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real" is the Animal Planet version and is narrated by Patrick Stewart from the Star Trek movies. You can buy it on the Discovery Channel online store for under $22.00. This is the version I have.
Description taken from Animal Planet Version...
"Take a scientific look at the animal kingdom's most imaginative creature in this stunning, "what if?" special. Ruling a make-believe world of fantasy and fairy tales, these terrifying, winged predators never existed in real life – but what if they had? Learn how dragons would have evolved into a number of different species through the ages – Prehistoric, Marine, Forest and Mountain Dragons – and how each dragon species was endowed with physical adaptations and behaviors specialized for its environment. Marvel at in vivo shots of each dragon's internal workings and learn the theoretical biology behind claims that these amazing creatures were able to fly and breathe fire. Combining live action footage, natural history and state-of-the-art computer animation, it's a vivid journey through the annals of the fantastic past and an in-depth, scientific look at one of humankind's most storied foes."
I highly recommend the documentary if you have not seen it!!!
Best Wishes...
T.

that depends,... do you want to have a creative imagination or would you rather live in a dull boring world with harsh realities in all its ugly forms.
A dragon, is a representation of an aspect of an individuals own qualities, which can be either good or bad.
How you interpret that is entirely up to you.
Some dragons, have been embodied with characteristics by artists and authors over the centuries.
A dragon can be as real as you want to make it. Though other dragons are very real, no matter how much some people would like to deny they exist.
For example there is a dragon in the world, called Pollution. It does exist, and it is very ugly. There is no way to kill it, though it has been a subject of controling it in some way, before it destroys the world. Ironically, it would never exist if there weren't a human civilization to feed it what it needs to survive.
yes, dragons do exist.

There is major evidence that says that centuries ago, people around the world were digging up Dinosaur bones and since they didn't know what Dinosaurs back then were, the idea of Dragons evolved to what we know today.
In a way, I find it cool that Dinosaurs were given this title even if it was by accident. And when you consider all the different species of Dinosaur and what Scientist think they might look like if they still were alive, I'd like to think that there is at least an 80% chance that real Dragons could have existed :-)

It is possible that Dragons did exist. If you go back in history there are too many instances and cultures in which Dragons are found. They are in Chinese Culture, Norse Culture, English and French....some of these stories are from countries thousands of miles apart and in a time when there were no communication between these countries.....yet the dragon shows up everywhere. Also, the fact that the dragon is described pretty much the same in all these cultures. Makes it hard to believe they didn't exist. Maybe the reward for slaying dragons is they made them extinct.

The only dragons that have been proved to be real are Camoto Dragons . Although they are not the mythical figures that they were made out to be . In old days theye were a serious problem . People have a tendency to embellish on story's that scare them . Make things in to a bigger problem then they really are . I think that is how the lizard with wings came about . Althoughh the real thing does not fly and spit fire, if you are bitten by one I have heard that it feels like the wound is on fire. What is a better way to scarepeople then telling them that these creatures can fly up to you and turn a house in to a smoldering pille of ash . Think about it and see if it helps you out with your'e question .

I think nearly every civilization and religion has dragon myths, dragon iconography and dragon folklore.
Since time imemorial man has spoken of them, flying, breathing fire, tempting virgins.
The Bible of the Christians has many references to dragons.
The Anunnaki of the ancient middle east, Hindu mythology, The indigenous peoples of the Americas. Africans, Australians, Islanders in every ocean refer to them, from the dragon lines of China to the flag and mythology of the Welsh nation.
Of course there may well be some truth in the Draco stuff eh ? The ancient royal bloodlines that rule over us by divine right are alleged to be spawned by Dragon stock.
So who knows eh ?
Worthy of some interesting internet research and a few books at the weekend sometime in the autumn.

Yes.
Centuries ago, dinosaurs were called dragons. (ever seen the painting, "Saint George and the Dragon"?)
The word "dinosaur" wasn't invented until recently.
The reason that ancient art depicts dragons breathing fire is that some dinosaurs actually could breath fire.
Look at pictures of a few dinosaurs. Some of them have large bumps on their heads, like the pterodactyl. (that's also why dragons, in stories, could fly)
Those were small chambers where natural body chemicals were mixed to produce flammable chemicals. Then fire was breathed out of the mouth.

Who knows for sure?
Dragon legends seem to be a very common thread through almost all the cultures of the world though, which makes me inclined to believe they probably have their basis in some form of fact.
I suspect it's likely there may have been some varieties of large lizards that are now extinct, that led to these legends.
As for those who say there aren't any fossils, etc. - well scientists are still looking for fossils for the missing link in human evolution too, but that doesn't mean they don't believe it's around somewhere.

Possibly. In christian belief, all references to 'that serpent' or 'the dragon' mean satan. Dragon is more of a descriptive term than creature, but it is possible, although highly unlikely, that they have existed in the past.
One thing you may be interested to know, is that the inventer Leonardo Da` Vinci was a extremely practical man, supposedly, but he drew on a piece of paper a number of cats and a dragon together. Could've been just drawing, ofcourse, but it's a funny piece of info to have.

In the Bible, Satan is described as a dragon. They are reptilian beings, the children of Satan. Genesis 6:1-4 tells how they came to earth, and inter-bred with human women. This is how royal blood got started. Everyone who is royal blooded is a descendant of these "Nephilim", or human- reptilian hybrids. The purely royal blooded are capable of shape-shifting between human, and reptilian form. They have ruled human society since the dawn of time, and continue to, to this day. They are presently known as the Illuminati. They have a diabolical agenda to start world war 3, reduce human population on earth by 2/3, and establish a new world order fascist dictatorship led by the Antichrist.
