I had an appraisal done recently. This is what they did.

Start by finding houses nearby that sold within the last few months. Ideally, you want to find houses that are the same size, same age, and have the same basic amenities as your house. Use their average sale price as a starting point.

Then adjust that up or down based on condition, age, amenities, upgrades, and location of your specific house.

Ha, ha how do you determine a homes "value".OK Divide the price of the home by its square footage.That will tell you the cost per sq.ft. then compare with other homes at same cost per.sq.ft. Which ever one you like more is worth more to you so has more value.
