I keep having similar dreams of running from someone?

Question

Ever since about a year ago, I started having this dream where I am being chased and I am running away.
I told a friend about this and he told me that it's because I ran away from my problems and in my dreams, it's my problems that are chasing me.
A year ago, I left my parent's house because I couldn't stand them anymore. I never got along with them and they've always yelled at me and blamed me for alot of things. I've never got along with them and they don't know anything about me and I don't know anything about them. There's always been hatred in the household. Anyways...after I left, I have stopped talking to them.
So, back to the dreams: the chaser would always be a person or a ghost or a vampire...etc. I would always be running or hiding from it. it's always scary.

Well if you prescribe to a psychoanalytic view of psychology, the running would probably signify some unresolved issues between you and your parents. Not that you're neccessarily running away, but that instead of resolving the issues, you're avoiding resolving it altogether. Unless there's something else of significance happening in your life as well. So I would say either try and work out these feelings on your own, the dreams will probably go away on their own; or just tell your parents how you feel and why you left.
