Big difference between college/university and high school. You are more accountable when you leave h.s. and go on to higher education. They don't take excuses "my dog ate my homework"!!
You are expected to work and work hard to keep grades up, many of the colleges and universities today have a long list of students wanting to get in and you must stand out and keep up your GPA. Partying and letting things slide just does not do it. Education is so expensive these days, you need to make the most of the time you are there so you can graduate and use your education and skills.

High School is before College and typically refers to grades 9 thru 12 but often only cover 10 thru 12.
