I had 2 POSITIVE pregnancy tests at the beginning of this week and now I am having negative tests. I had all the symptoms of being pregnant. Late period, sore breast, nausea, tired, etc., What could this mean? If I am pregnant - I know that I used an ovulation kit to tell me when I was most fertile and it was on August 2 and 3rd. I had sex both days. My period was suppose to start this past Saturday - no sign of it yet - whats up with this? I am really bummed out that I was positive (with symptoms) and now the tests are reading negative. Can someone help me?

➔ Trying to Conceive
You should usually wait about two weeks past your missed period to take the test, but I know it's hard to wait that long. The reason is because pregnancy tests pick up a particular hormone. You gotta give your body time to accumulate this hormone. Try one more test and make a doctors appointment. Doctor's tests pick up lower levels of the homone than store bought tests. Also, if you took the tests at different times in the day, this could account for different readings. There is more of the hormone present in the morning than there is in the evening. (the first morning pee is most potent in other words.) So don't lose hope. Try another test after a good nights sleep. God answers prayers. (And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and believing, you will recieve. Matthew 21:22)
Be Blessed--both of you.

Do you still have the symptoms? If you do, don't panic yet, because you may have excreted more HCG in the earlier tests or they are different tests and not as sensitive as the first batch. I would definitely see a doctor, tomorrow if possible, to get blood work done and find out what is going on. Good luck!
Just a curiosity thing: Why did you take more tests after two positives?

You could've had a chemical pregnancy. That happens when an egg is fertilized but the pregnancy is interrupted naturally at a very early stage, so the test detects the hormone but you're not really pregnant. The only way to know for sure is by seeing your ob-gyn and having some tests done.

A false positive is very unlikely as a test looks for human growth hormone, but the negative tests could be bad. My best friend took a bad test that came up negative. Where the negative tests purchased together? Of course you may have conceived and then lost it. The only way to know for sure is to visit your gynecologist. It sounds like you really want a baby. I wish you the best.

first off make sure you weren't using the ovulation tests by accident as pregnancy tests... otherwise if they were indeed pregnancy tests and the brands are the same then you may have concieved but are now no longer pregnant (early miscarriage)
you need to see your doctor to have blood work drawn to see what the exact level of HCG (pregnancy hormone) is in your body, then a test a day or two later to see if it's gone up or down to determine what is going on

My Dr said you can get a false negative but a false positive is extremely rare because the test looks for a chemical in you body that is only present during pregnancy.
Call the Dr and get blood work, if you are pregnant you will need it anyways!

My best advice to you is to go to your local MD and get a blood test taken... they are by far the most accurate form of pregnancy testing. A lot of take home urine test can be faulty for many reasons... I had actually taken a home test and it came up positive... I got so excited.... when I went to my obgyn they gave me a blood test and it turned out that I was never really pregnant at all...so I rarely trust home pregnancy tests.... even the most expensive ones!!!!

Ok...first off I would like to ask WHY you took any pregnancy tests after you had one come up positive? It is almost impossible to have a invalid positive test. I believe you are pregnant. Go to your doc and take a blood test.

If your peeing before a few hours and then trying to test your hormones arent having enough time to build up therefore its giving you negative results. Try testing in the mornings first morning urine. otherwise it could be a miscarraged in progress.
