The best thing in the world that you can invest in, is Carmex.
It helps with cuts, chapped lips, heat rashes....
It is thicker than vaseline and will help your lips keep from drying out.
I have used it for many years and I still chose it over any chap stick.
and a little goes a long way.

Drink plenty of water. One of the leading causes of dry skin and chapped lips in dehydration. Then, use a soft toothbrush or washcloth and lightly scrub your lips. Do this in the shower. Immediately after that, apply any type of lip balm (Vaseline works well). Try not to lick your lips and reapply the lip balm as often as needed.

One word: Aquaphor. It's the best product out there for chapped skin. Chapstick doesn't work that well. Apply it daily as needed even if it comes in a tube.

Don't lick them (it dries them out) and try something called Bag Balm - it's amazing! I'll post the website where you can find it in my answer.
