This is my 3rd pregnancy and I have never experienced this with my 1st two. I mean I usually can't stand the smell of food. However, now I can't stand the smell AND sight of food.
I just had some potato chips- which I was intensely craving for. Bad idea! I threw it all up. I'm super hungry, but I don't know what to eat! I'm afraid that if I do eat something I'll throw up, get heartburn, get all gassy-bloated-can't burp but want to so badly~~> (which I have been everyday since we conceived).
Help?! I need some suggestions on what to eat without feeling like barfing every 5 minutes! Is there even a solution? If so......WHAT IIIS IIIIT?!
Thanks!

It might be HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum)... a rare but severe morning sickness. HG can lead to dehydration, weight loss, and lack of vitamins in your system. If you are vomiting frequently... and/or you notice you are losing weight... then I would sugget going to the ER. You might need to be hopsitalized for a day or two. Other than that... speak with your health care provider about what you can do to slow down the frequent vomiting a bit. Good luck!!

AHHHH the miracle of life....you need to calm down...try some low salt saltine crackers...eat them slowly....try some juices or even just water to keep your sugar levels up and to keep you hydrated...
when i was pregnant the sight and smell of meat made me barf. I threw up the entire time. There is no such thing as morning sickness...it can attack all day long.
If you can stay away from vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli for awhile...they are big gassers. Try some bread, maybe a bagel. Even try some plain old tums, after all they are just calcium so they are safe.
But I would talk to your Dr. because it might be manageable....and they have seen and heard it all.
by the way were your 1st 2 kids girls?.....I just have a feeling...(based solely on my own intuition and experience alone) that you are having a boy.
good luck.

My mom never fails to tell me on my birthday that she had the same "morning sickness" the entire time she was pregnant with me and how grateful I should be that I'm even alive. With that being said she had the same problem with my brother. She had to be hospitalized and the whole nine. Her doctor finally gave her a shot of B vitamins and she was morning sickness free. She tried taking the b vitamin pills, but she could keep them down. The shot seemed to work for her. My only other suggestion is delivery, which I'm thinking is probably not an option at this point. Good luck.

I know exactly what your going through. I went through the same thing.
What I didn't know is that there is a certain Vitamin you can take that will take all the nausea away. My friend is pregnant right now and was throwing up in the beginning. She takes vitamin B12 and hasn't thrown up since. I guess there is just something in it that helps out. I wish I knew about it when I was pregnant.
Go and get Vitamin B12. I think you can get it over the counter.
Trust me on this. My friend is the type to get sick very easily. Always has been. Doctor told her about it.
Good luck.

actually, it's vitamin B6 that can help with nausea... you can get it at walmart OTC. the ginger and gingerale stuff never worked for me nor did the crackers... i've had morning sickness for all but 1 month of my pregnancy. my OB had to give me meds (zofran, reglan, and phenegren) to help me keep food down.. if you can't keep any liquids down for 24 hours then you need to go to the hospital for some IVs.. if you get too dehydrated it can cause contractions and is very bad for the baby... the pills are the only thing that worked for me, and trying to lay very still.. also, stay nice and cool, i enjoyed being cold b/c at least then the heat didn't make me feel sick... definitely talk to your OB ASAP so you can get some meds though.. then just eat bland foods... baked potatoes, mashed potatoes (no gravy though, steer clear of fatty stuff and fried stuff- makes you more sick) also you can try a liquid diet for a little bit.. try some slimfast or chicken broth if you can stand it.. (that's what they always gave me in the hospital, that and popsicles) good luck to you.. hope things get better for you soon..

I can totally relate with you. I am about 9 weeks pregnant and for the last 4 weeks i have been nauseous 24/7......i have experimented With my food, and i have found that the following foods have worked quite well:
eggs, baked potatoes, plain white bread, oatmeal.
Basically foods very plain work well. No spreads, added sauces, seasoning etc...
Just trying to have something in your stomach without you wanting to vomit is a success and wonderful feeling!!
Also my doctor prescribed me some medicine that has helped and is completely safe to take during pregnancy
Good luck.....
Keep smiling!!!!

I wanted to barf 24/7 the whole time I was pregnant, too. I was told to follow the BRAT diet- Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, & Toast. It's really gentle on the stomach. Also, if you're having problems staying hydrated, try mixing an appealing flavor of Hawiian Punch or somthing similar with equal parts of water. It's appealing and drinkable, and watering it down cuts the sugar.

Morning sickness is common, and you were lucky to avoid it for your first two.
However, keep an eye on what's going on, and drink lots of water.
I was seriously sick during my pregnancy, throwing up 10-20 times a day. I ended up in the hospital twice, being dehydrated, because even water came up.
Since I lost 12 pounds in my first trimester (I started at 103lbs, and went down to 91lbs - I'm only 4'11"), my doctor was concerned enough to put me on prescription Zofran. I ended up having morning sickness for six months. It is an anti-nausea medication used for patients having chemo-therapy, usually. I was concerned about taking any kind of medication while pregnant, but we went over side effects, etc, together, and the Zofran was safe. And it SAVED me. I started gaining weight, and was able to eat again. I was still dizzy all the time, but only threw up maybe once or so a day if that.
I wouldn't recommend going on meds if it's not necessary, but if you aren't gaining weight, or keeping water down, you may need to talk to you doctor.

Try Ginger. And when you get up in the morning, have some saltines by your bed, eat a few, even if you hate the idea of eating them. Having something in your stomach when you get up helps. I had a pregnancy like that and all I could keep down was tomato juice on ice. Weird.

I went thourgh the same exact thing, its probably morning sickness, b/c I remember my 1st pregnancy I hardley gained any weight because I went thourgh the same exact thing I couldn't eat hardley anything/or keep anything down for that matter (hardley) for 6 1/2 months. I go to my ob/gyn and she'd be like "yup, you lost another pound this week, try to eat something!!" she's always growl at me for not eating and I told what was wrong but she said keep trying: ) So good luck :)
