seems to me that internet radio and podcasting and dj culture has taken a lot of the steam out of videos..

Dating myself here - but when videos first came out - even a mediocre song could get play based on having a good video - I doubt very much that that is the case today.. thoughts?

It's the other way around, and to answer your question: YES.
This was the 1st video on MTV. The channel has not been the same since. They have strayed from the music and delved into too much reality TV. Where are the videos, the VJ's and the good music?????

MTV has killed music videos. Oh, I remember the days when my friends and I would sit for hours waiting for our favorite videos to come on that channel and now all they have is reality shows that aren't that real.

*grin* I think reality TV killed the video star. When I was a kid..there was nothing on Mtv but music videos.
