If a child had issues doing to the bathroom regularly as a child (around 4), then had constipation that lasted for a month (not being able to regularly pass stool, then being ok, then being clogged up again, this pattern repeating) at 11, then has it again in their mid teens (15/16), could this be chronic? At 15/16 how can this be solved if they drink water, have fruit and fluids, are on medication but can't even go? Immune to meds? Is it possible that there is something actually wrong with the person's digestive system or colon? Is it a stress response?
Aside from apple and prune juice, what are other natural remedies? The Lemonade Diet (a lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, cayenne pepper drink) is supposed to stimulate bowel movements. Does it? Is green tea helpful? Other natural remedies or foods that really CLEAR OUT?
Is it also possible to experience severe bloating and stomach distention if one has not gone to the bathroom for three-six days? How can the bloating be reduced?

Water, fruit juice, fruits, fats, fiber, laxatives, suppositories; none of it works. Is there anything that is absolutely *sure* to clear it out? It's like a mass stuck...sorry, that's gross. Would hot water be better than cold?

My mom would swear by castor oil, it tastes yuck but helps relieve your kind of problem. U've got 2 take 2tsps at night.
Eat prunes and figs they are natural laxatives.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables' grain and other high fibre food.
Take PSYLLIUM HUSK - can be got at a medical store - at night 2 tsp with hot milk.
Drink a lot of water, exercise, cut down on beef, pork any kind of red meat.
Eat whole wheat bread no refined stuff so no pizzas, white bread etc. Watch what you eat anything natural is good.
Start your morning with a glass of warm water 2 which the juice of a lemon and honey are added. Follow it with lots of water about 1 - 2 litres.
And go when you have to don't hold back.
Soon u'll start suffering from piles etc so take action quickly. Distention in your condition is normal because the waste starts 2 rot and produce gases.

it is important to have enough fiber in our diets to be able to keep things moving along. a salad a day helps me (not ice burg but romaine and others). eating a whole food diet with plenty of cooked, raw, and fermented vegetables is important. also to form a healthy stool you need adequate beneficial intestinal flora. you would be surprised how much of the stool is created by this. if you want this naturally, eat more unpasteurized naturally fermented food (no vinegar) like sauerkraut, pickles, natto, etc. if this is too difficult, get acidopholis pills that are eccentric coated. getting the good stuff pays off so don't skimp on price. if bloating is a problem, try drinking 1-10 t. raw apple cider vinegar in a little before meals.
for immediate evacuation, i have had success with cayenne only if it is about 1/8 t. and of a very hot variety (90,000 heat units). aloe vera and slippery elm can sooth intestines and make them slippery. keep the good work of drinking plenty of water (half your weight in ounces) and add 1/4t. salt to each quart. (watercure2.org for more info on this). colonics are a "for sure" remedy if you get "clogged up". you can also try enemas. if you are desperate, epsom salts (the dose is on the package) but it shouldn't be used on regular basis. personally i wouldn't let it go for as long as a month. this can be dangerous. 1-2 movements a day is the average for a healthy person. bloating will happen when you aren't eliminating properly.

There are two types of constipation: wet and dry. Dry is self explanatory. Wet constipation is when you have a bowel movement but it is wet and pencil sized (everything feels stuck higher up in the intestines). If you have dry constipation, make a tea of rose and licorice root before bedtime. Also take a capsule of cascara sagrada. This will get things moving, but the cascara sagrada should not be taken long term as it can be addictive.
If you have wet constipation, make a tea of fennel seeds and licorice root. Also take the cascara sagrada capsule.
After you get things moving, switch to Triphala -- a combination of three fruits from India. This works by stimulating the liver and digestive secretions so the food move through more smoothly. It in NOT addictive and is also high in vitamin C. In India, they say "If you have no mother, no worries as long as you have Triphala". Either take two capsules at bed or one teaspoon of the powder mixed with grape juice.

Dried fruits such as raisins (2-3 handfuls) , dried prunes (6-10), dried figs (6-10) and most especially dried apricots (4-8) are very effective. Green tea is effective too, but only among selected people. Oils are also effective as one responder mentioned but has the side effect of decreasing the absorption of essential fat-based nutrients, such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. I would give priority to dried fruits.
