If I were you I would confront the mother, if the father is available also speak to him. Let them know under no uncertain terms that if this behavior does not stop and they do not control their children you will have no other choice than to call CPS.

That is a really good example of why society is the way it is today!
People just do not want to take the responsibility they should.

Good Luck!!

I can relate to your frustration. It should be easy and practical (but it often doesn't turn out that way) to nicely bring it to the attention of their parents and then they would give proper parenting supervision to their kids and resolve the problem. But you'll problably find that the parents will think you too picky, and just a complainer, and will side with their kids.

CPS won't likely be interested in the problem because it doesn't involve care of children from a safety standpoint.

And you must by now (as i would have) wondered how they're going to be when they get to be 12 or 16, etc. If they don't have the right training at this point to become adults, what are they going to look like later.

At this point I will further disappoint you by saying I don't have an answer to it. I sympathize for you and other people who have to live next door to things like this. The kids right now are too young to know right from wrong, but what they're doing is also intensely annoying and should be curbed by the parent. The parents are the key to solution, but success to solution depends on how they receive input from others.

And when parents talk to their children to modify behavior, you hope the parents will have a skill level to do it in a way that doesn't convey to the child that the neighbor is a bad lady, but rather you (child) are doing something wrong, no matter who the neighbor is. It's just plain wrong.

I think you should gently confront the parents (in their presence). Children are nice but sometimes they are liars. Especially behind the back of the accused. Parents too get a little defensive when they are ashamed/disappointed. so as I said before, be gentle.

depending on the laws where you live, you may have legal ways of stopping this poor excuse for a parent from letting her kids run wild. Call your land lord (if you rent) or your city hall to find out the best course of action.

wow.. talk to the mother.. if nothing is done.. talk to a police officer and ask their advice. Maybe one can swing by and scare the little deamons back into their cave. ( : Good luck!

File a police report... they're turning your property into a disease breeding ground.
