You'll want to thoroughly rinse your piercings with warm water and keep them clean and free of residue.

Left over shampoo can certainly irritate the healing skin under your piercing and irritation can lead to inflammation and infection.

they say to use the alcohol stuff they gave you. if they didn't give any to you, use regular rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball.
just turn 'em all the time, vaseline will help if they feel a little stuck in there, take 'em out at night to wash them and your ears, and put them back in. don't leave them out for more than an hour the first 3 months though, they might close up. the first time i got mine done, i was 10 and it lasted 1 month, they hurt all the time and i really didn't take care of them. i didn't pierce 'em again til this past march, i'm 26 now and they've been fine, no problems. but i have been taking care of them real good.

whoa, calm down. just rinse your ears while you are in the shower after to rinse out the shampoo and conditioner.

if you are super concerned about cleanliness, use alcohol on a q-tip to clean you ears 1-2 times a day. it'll sting, but the stuff they give you at claires is so weak, it will doubtfully do anything.

and you only have to leave the earings in for 6 weeks, not 6 months. both my sister and i have our ears peirced, and we took our earings out asap. just wear a pair of earings every so often afterwards to keep the whole open.

like do you mean you got conditioner & shampoo on them? thats okay... read the directions on the bottle for cleaning your earrings that claires gave you and it says how often to wash them and all that stuff.

Since your piercings are in the process of healing, give it a day or two. There will be puss coming out if water gets in it, but thats okay. Just goto your local pharmacy, and ask the pharmacist for disinfectant, and antibiotics. There are over-the-counter treatments, or prevention methods to getting it infected. Just follow those rules, and you will be alright.

If it itches (where the piercings are), its all good - it means its healing. DONT SCRATCH! =)

If you don't take care of it, be sure to expect infection, irritation, and other bad things to happen.

Shampoo and water won't hurt your ears. Clean them twice a day, and don't forget to turn them in your ears, otherwise they won't heal properly. It's normal for them to have "stuff" around the posts - just clean it off.

In 6 weeks, you'll be able to change your earrings.
