My 'puter came with XP already installed- and if I had the time to go to the library now- I'd get the XP for Dummies book (maybe later or tomorrow...) any way- if I restart the 'puter, and say I want to boot from the HD can I install the missing file from there? or should I go in and do a command prompt and type C: and then---> expand sndvol32.ex_ system_root\system32\sndvol32.exe

jeeze- I really need that book! ;o) Thnx for any and all help!!!

If you have trouble with the recovery console and expanding files, you might want to just download it.

http://www.relaxingsoftware.com/sndvol32.exe

Make sure to place it in your C:\Windows\System32 directory

i did that once too lol. u have to go to ur control panel and time warp back to a day or so when u remember having it. dont do a destructive or non destructive recovery.....only system restore
