My wife is having a baby in December and we just found out the insurance her work offers is quite expensive. We would like to keep Medicair if we could.

it's not based on whether you have access to insurance...it's if you can afford it, if you and your wife meet the criteria for the medicaid then don't worry

do you mean medicare or medical if you are now eligable with the state insurance and if your wife has just passed a 90day probation or something like that you are able to keep you meical/medicare for a 12 month period i need to know what state you are in and what is the medicade you have so i can be of more help i have been working with medical ins. for 12 years

I don't know a whole lot about this,
BUT....I think that it shouldn't/doesn't make a difference if you have the option to get a new insurance, as long as you don't accept it,
you should be able to keep your Medicair.
I have 2 insurance's--Mainecare & BlueCross/Blue Shield, & that's worked for me, but I'm lucky, I guess, in the sense that my parent's still pay for my BlueCross/Blue Shield health insurance.
(My Dad get's this from his work.)
