Dana,
Marijuana has aproximately 8 carcinogens - while cigarrettes have over 42. Orange Juice, in Comparison, has 12 - and a small town smog has about 80 - a city has about 120.
Your body intakes and removes carcinogens regularly every day.
Carcinogens, by the way, do not cause cancer by themselves. They allow cells to "bounce" off of them and hit other cells - which then, bruise up and "something happens" were the cell mutates into Cancer.

There is a certain amount of the stuff in marijuana and tobacco your body can handle and eliminate. Generally, you don't smoke a pack of marijuana a day like you do cigarettes although you do hold the smoke in your lungs longer.
I think the dangers are probably equal. Setting any weed on fire and breathing the smoke can't possibly be good for you not matter what kind of weed it is.

Marijuana doesn't cause cancer. It is the best therapeutic substance there is for many health problems. Don't believe all the propaganda that the drug companies and the government perpetrates. A lot of natural things like fuel and clothing can be made from marijuana. The reason it is illegal is because the synthetic industries with their lobbying money and power are keeping it illegal.

The smoke from pot contains carcinogens, as does any smoke from anything. Inhale enough burning *Instert anything here* and you'll get cancer. Marijuana actually contains more cancer causing agents per volume than tobacco. But the amount of marijuana that is smoked per dose is much less than that of tobacco.
So long story short:
- Does it cause cancer? No likely, people don't smoke enough of it.
- Can it cause cancer? Most definetly

It's not the Marijuana that causes cancer, it's the papers and pipes that are harmful to your lungs. Remember it grows wild it is a weed. They need to legalize it and burn all the tobacco fields, Now those things kill millions and its cancer you buy !!

You will be able to find studies indicating weed does, and does not, cause cancer. The strength and validity of the studies needs to be assessed. As well, as you are probably aware, everything today seems to cause cancer.

Pot is blue black filthy burning smoke that is carcinogenic and does belong in anyone's lungs. It's not about nicotine that of course is not present in dope smoke but the copious amounts of garbage tar that occurs in goodly amounts in burning weed. Committed pot heads of longer standing have from moderately to severely compromised lung function and why shouldn't they? They are sucking in 8 times the tar per joint as another clown who's poison is cigarettes. None of this **** belongs in our body.

Inhaling any kind of smoke can't actually be good for the lungs! C'mon! It does also create short term memory loss.Oh! and my favorite of it all...PARANOïA!!!It burns a lot of vitamin C in your system so take supplements , bad for the teeth and also loss of hair.
