When I was younger I had really bad heartburn.. and than just lately I have been having it again.. I think I have had it this entire time, just lived with the pain and ignored it.

My pain feels like its heartburn, but also in my throat. It almost makes me want to throw up. I find that I get it the night after I have had a few drinks, but also if I eat spicy food early in the morning.

I don't know if it has anything at all to do with it, but I have also been feeling fatter.. bloated.. than usual.

whats wrong with me?!?!

It could be an ulcer, but it sounds like GERD to me. There are meds that can help with this. Ulcers don't always bleed, you can have an ulcer and no signs of bleeding. Go to your doctor and get some meds. Try not to eat foods that flare up your heartburn.

I had hearburn alot when I was younger, and the throat sensation too. I only get it once in while now, and I know it's associated with what I eat. Ever since I started eating healthier I hardly ever have it. If you eat healthily - not much alcahol, lots of water, plenty of fruits & veggies, easy on the shellfish and red meat and fats, several small meals throughout the day, - and you're still getting heartburn - you should probably see a doctor.

alright An ulcer is an open bleeding sore. two signs to watch for is A) blood in your stool and B) pucking up blood. if you have either of those you need to go to the emergency room. if you go with out taking care of it you can bleed out. (bleed to death from loss of to much blood) You need to stay away from Oranges, grapefruits, Strawberries, decaffeinated anything, carbonated anything, chocolate, Mexican foods, etc. That's just the beginning. Dont eat before you go to bed, drink lots of milk. Drink a full glass of milk before going to bed and this will help with the burning in the throat. If you don't stop this burning in your throat the acid will deteriorate your vocal cords like what it did to me. Then you will also have to worry abut not talking! fun fun. Make sure that you don't eat anything before you go to bed like i said but have at least wait two hours after eating before going to bed. Go get some acid pills like prylosec otc. That's what I have been taking four five years now. Or go see your doctor. To me it doesn't sound like you have an ulcer but you should feel sharp pains right underneath your sternum like someone is stabbing you with a knife. I hope this helps you. if you need anymore help about this e-mail me. celicagirl587@yahoo.com
this isn't a fun thing to have and you don't need to live with it. take care of it before it gets to bad. I waited and now I'm suffering from it. don't do that to yourself!
