This is a record year for heat in US.
Should be cooler as we're headed towards an ice age
so don't let the global warmers scare you.
Also hurricanes- worse year on record!
(We're keeping better records and noticing more effects(duh more people!)
Loss of tree tree cover/vegetation will also have a noticeable effect.
So plant trees in the morning and help out for tomorrow.
Remember to think of the size the tree will become/ avoid structures power lines, etc. Also orient for summer/winter
and if its an evergreen... shade summer but use the suns heat for winter! If IN a room use a fan... cause $$$ to cool.

Yes I suppose so. Hurricane's are said to be created by low pressure and extremely hot weather in Africa which tends to travel accross and pick up clouds and stuff along the way. Also High sea level is needed. So This atmosphere can be created by global warming. the Heat that we are living through is also apparently created by global warming. Another connection between the two is that of the flow of oceans can be interupted by rising level so it can get even hotter because wind or breezes will not be developed and so you will feel hotter. So really the real thing you should blame is global warming. for the hurricane and the heat

No, nothing to do with it. Katrina was a weather event not a climate event.
I feel so sorry for Biloxi as you took the brunt of the hurricane but New Orleans got all the media attention.
Let me make this clear..... Hurricane Katrina did not hit New Orleans head on. All the deaths and flooding were due to human failure.
hope you are doing well

Why not call WLOX and ask Mike? I doubt it is any hotter and also doubt Katrina had anything to do with the weather along the Gulf. Answer from Escatawpa!

Yeah - maybe less trees. We are in the middle of a heat wave. Frankly, both this heat and Katrina are natural flucuations in climate. Katrina is done - it can't do anything more to affect the weather only people, attitudes and new policies.

it would look so.. i can keep in mind as a teenager Cyclone Tracey that struck Darwin, yonks in the past that replaced into, seems those 'dames' have been inflicting huge injury & destruction ever considering that, with possibly the exception of Hugo.
