I am a cop. Its not a thankless job. Almost everyday someone says thanks for helping. There are the everday jerks too, but that come with the job. Most people are pretty nice!

billyandgaby-Boohoo...did you get busted for doing something illegal? Newsflash for you there....IT'S THEIR JOB TO ENFORCE THE LAWS!!! I've gotten two speeding tickets in my time (both times I was speeding) and I thanked the officers each time-not a snotty thank you, but a sincere thank you.

Police do things besides arrest people and dole out tickets. If the only contact you have had with a police officer is in association with a crime you committed, then you perhaps need to take inventory of your own ambitions and not bust the police's chops for doing their job.

It would be a thankful job if most of them weren't assholes who let the authority thing go to their heads.
