Hi..First you need to be sure that you are suffering from yeast infection and not bacterial infection. If it is bacterial infection then you need to see the Doctor right away. Yeast infection can be due to many reasons such as moist clothing, sitting in bathing suits for a prolonged time as yeast proliferates in moist places. You can treat yeast infections with over-the-counter Monistat 7. This is a 7 day course. Buy a pack which has internal suppositories as well as a cream for extrenal itching. First day will be terrible as it will burn a lot.
However, if you have a tingling or burning sensation while urinating, you might be suffering from UTI as well. Check this out with a Urine test. You can get Azo test strips to check if you have UTI. This has nitrite as well as WBC's test. If you are negative for nitrite test then you dont have becterial infection. If you are positive for WBC's then you are suffering from some infection other than bacterial. The infection might reach the urinary tract as the urinary opening and the vaginal opening are closely situated. Redo the test after you have completed the course with Monistat. If you still test positive and the burning and tingling is still there go and see the doctor immediately.
Take a few precautions like don't wipe from back to front, don't use soap as it will make skin dry, and drink lots of water.
Some also suggest eating a lot of Yogurt, but there is no proof that yogurt cures. The idea is that the bacteria from yogurt is also present in the vagina. So the number of that bacteria will increase and you will be cured of that infection. If you want to, you can eat yogurt.

A yeast infection is due to an overgrowth of...you guessed it...yeast. It happens for a lot of reasons including (but not limited to): wearing clothing that keeps your vaginal tissue from being able to evaporate moisture (tight, synthetic fabrics), antibiotics that kill some of your good bacteria along with the bad, and diabetes (people with diabetes have a higher risk for yeast infections but most women with yeast infections do NOT have diabetes).
You can treat it with over the counter miconazole (monistat and other generic versions). They come in 1, 3, 5, and 7 day preparations and should work about equally well, but don't be fooled; the 1 day preparation means you only use one dose, but it doesn't make the yeast infection go away immediately, it still takes about 3-5 days to take effect.
I would recommend that you see your doctor the first time you think you have a yeast infection because there are some similar things that can be mistaken for yeast infections (like urinary tract infections and some stds, etc). If you have had one before, however, and you know that this is the same symptoms, you can go ahead and use the over the counter stuff. There is a pill (diflucan is the brand name, fluconazole is the generic) that can be prescribed by your doctor instead of using the creams if you would prefer...

If you think you may have one, definitely go to the doctor. She won't give you antibiotics. Yeast infections are not bacterial infections, they are fungal infections.
Sometimes they are caused by too much moisture, which is why women often get them in the summer when it is humid or they are sitting around in wet bathing suits a lot. However, they can be caused by many different things. All women have yeast in their vaginas. When you have a yeast infection, it just means that the yeast has overgrown - you have too much of it.
If you are having symptoms like itching or milky white discharge, see a doctor. You need to make sure it's not something worse than a yeast infection, first of all. If it is indeed a yeast infection, the doctor will prescribe medicine that you apply inside your vagina for a few days.
They do sell over the counter yeast infection rememdies, but I would not recommend using them if you haven't been diagnosed. After all, you don't know for sure what is causing your symptoms.

Yeast infections are caused by a buildup of bacteia in the vagina. Most bacteria in the vagina are normal and healthy, but sometimes, you get too many and end up with a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis (bv).
A good otc cure for yeast infections is Monistat. The 7 day treatment is better than the 1 day.
You should'nt diagnose yourself though, especially if you are sexually active.
, only a doctor can be sure of what is wrong down there.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:
https://bitly.im/aMBIl
Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Too much sugar, tight clothing, tight underwear, stress. Diabetics are more prone to yeast infections and some women get a yeast infection with every cycle.
You can get medication for it at any pharmacy, otc. Follow the directions carefully. If it doesn't go away you may need to go to the doctor.

yeast infection can happen to anyone regardless of if you are pregnant or not. The fact that you are pregnant is not the reason for the infection. The infection can me cause by many things. From the soap you use to wash to any body fluid from your body (including sweat)...The most important thing at this point is not finding out where it came from, cause that would be very hard..Instead be concern aobut treatment and treat it as soon as possible. Good Luck
