My husband and I have been together for almost 12 yrs and married for almost 3 of them. I have been wanting a baby for a few years now and he keeps telling me not yet. Now he tries to tell me we can't until we can afford it. How can I let him know that if we will never beable to, no one really is. They work it out. Help????

We have always both wanted at least 1 baby/child, but now he isn't ready.

Here's what I learned. There's no good time to have a baby. Something will always be happening that can be used as an excuse to put it off. Money. Family illness. Job changes. Blah, blah. You can always rationalize a delay. So just do it.

Tell him you're ready and you want him to be ready. If he says no, you may have to move on.

Hey accidents happen... Birth control and condoms don't work a 100% of the time. So stop taking the pill just act like you do or if he wears condoms take a needle and poke a hole right through the middle of them right in the head of them. Should get the job done. If you wait to afford it you will never have them.

You need to explain to him that no one is ever financially ready for a child. I am in a similar situation, however, my husband is ready and I am still not sure. We have no money to raise a child, that is what I tell him, but he explained that no matter what it entails we will do what we can for our child...I think no one is really ever ready for such a thing, but talk to him...maybe he will understand if you explain all the pros as opposed to the cons..

I think you need to have an honest discussion with him. Is this truly his concern, or is he using it as an excuse? Does he actually want to have children at all? If not, then you have a decision to make.
