You can't control what color you are when you born. We are making fun of our own. Does that make sense?

I don't get it either. Maybe they want someone that they can believe they are better then since we are in the white man's world some black people believe the lighter they are the better.

It doesn't make sense, but it's clearly coming from the "new ghetto culture". I don't want to sound racist, but most white people can't understand why "some" black people are the way they are now today. I mean with all the progress of the civil rights movement, you think people within their own race would have more self-respect. A lot of people don't like what Bill Cosby has to say...but I completely agree with many of his view points...one of which is about the situation you are asking about.

It is called colorism and is deeply rooted in slavery. There are some things that are particular for each race, burnt mind.

When you are saying black ppl you are seprating your ppl from others,so this is your first mistake
the second mistake is that the question should change to this:
why some ppl make fun of other ppl ?

because they want to be considered better than the darker skinned people, when they really are just showing their bigotry.

in my opinion bc those black people think bc they are the "lighter shade of brown" that there better than their darker counterparts.
