A weeping willow tree. It is different from any other tree. It is huge and produces much shade. The branches arch upwards and then downwards towards the ground. I lOVE it!

My favorite tree here in SoCal is Eucalyptus ficifolia. Green leaves like a Ficus with red(also comes in pink, white and coral) flowers! There are some as street trees in Glendale and in Pasadena. It is an uncommon tree and they don't get too huge! The red is so beautiful and they are blooming now.

I like tulip trees because they have big pink flowers in the springtime. (ditto for other pink and white flowering trees, but I can't remember which ones those are).
Also, birch trees - they have a distinctive look and it's cool that it smells like birch beer when you sniff the branches.
And maple trees because that is where yummy maple syrup really comes from!

Angel Trumpet...because they bloom at night either white, pinkish purple or yellow depending on the variety you plant. The flowers are trumpet shaped about 12 inches long. You can keep them small or allow them to grow as large as 30 feet tall. They smell wonderful, to me like lemon meringue pie
