Average cost of daycare ranges from $20-$30 per day in the US. I'd charge a half day rate.

Going rate last time I heard was four or five bucks an hour. Does your mum have this little guy all the time or is it just an occasional babysitting job?
I'm real old I used to get 10 bucks a day working 10 hours babysitting.....and we thought that was good money then.

I pay $20 per day for my daughter and it doesn't matter if it is 1 hour or 8 or if she doesn't go. If she is scheduled to be at her care takers home I have to pay. It is only fair that way as they depend upon that money. Now if you know that it is only that amount of hours and it will never be more than I think $10 to $15 per day is fair.

Not sure if this helps.. But I think it depends on how much work this kid is going to be. The going rate is anywhere from $2-$5 an hour I believe.

It would depend on the circumstances. Are the boys' parents working? If so, she should get at least $2.00 an hour. If they're dining out she should get at least $5.00 an hour. If they've had a family emergency, she should donate her time and not charge them anything.

7 years? Depends on how much trouble he'd be to her, maybe $5 an hour.
