Humble is a small town just NE of Houston near the George W. Bush Airport. I doubt that anyone who lives in Humble would say they live in Houston since it is it's own city. But you never know.

I grew up in Humble and I guarantee you I never said to be from Houston. I saw I'm from Humble which is just north of Houston. That being said these days it's hard to tell where Houston ends and Humble begins, gotten quite congested with all the traffic.

Humble is a city in Harris County, Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The commute from Humble to major Houston landmarks and business districts is a mere minutes.

Humble is its own city but still an important part of Houston culture. Many of Houston's workers commute daily from their Humble area homes.

Humble is it's own town but it's very close to Houston. Maybe about 30 minutes or so. They could say Houston instead of Humble since most people wouldn't know where Humble is but do know where Houston is.

If they say they live in the Houston area, or Harris County, they could very well live in Humble. I actually live near, Tomball, but not it that city's city limits. I live in the suburbs between Tomball & Houston. To make things easier, I tell people that I'm from Houston. Few have ever heard of Tomball (which is VERY near Humble).

In truth, Humble is indeed a sperate city outside Houston city limits. However, due to Houston's massive size, residents often choose to tell outsiders that they live in Houston, as that's a city most people can relate to, even if they've never even been to Texas.

The same situation applies to the numerous cities surrounded by Houston, such as Bellaire, a city which is almost like an island completely surrounded by the Houston city limits. The residents of Bellaire will often tell their Houstonian counterparts that they live in Houston, since the Bellaire area is often treated more as a neighborhood rather than a fully functioning city (Bellaire even has it's own City Council).

There are many small towns outside and inside Houston like my Village, Piney Point. We say that we live in Houston because it is easliy recognized. Humble is pronounce "umble". It has been around for many years and was the site where Humble Oil, now Exxon, began.

Nice question. I love Texas!!!

Humble is part of the Houston area, a suburb if you will. Much like Spring, Klein, Pasadena, Tomball, etc.

However, if you ask anyone who lives in one of these areas, then they will tell you they are from Houston.
