I would like creative and not harmful way to keep 'the boss' from taking my soda from the fridge at work. I can't really confront her - I'm afraid to do that because it could turn bad. Any suggestions?

This may sound mean, but it does work.
Take a very hot pepper and squeeze the juices on the top of the soda can. Make sure you wipe it off before you open it yourself.
If its a bottle, tape a small piece of your hair on the neck or use liquid glue. This way when they go to drink from it, they will see the hair and start to wonder what you did with the bottle. If and when they look at you, just give them a smile.

How about next time, you buy two cans of soda. Make an announcement:
"I bought two sodas! One for you and one for me! Next time, you buy, and we can go back and forth. Isn't that a great idea? Saves shopping time for both of us!"
She will happily accept her soda, and I'll bet she will leave yours alone.
Next day, ask her when she comes in "Did you get sodas? Would you like me to put the sodas in the fridge for you?"
See what she says.
If that doesn't work, then get yourself a travel case with an ice pack, and keep your stash where you keep your purse.

Write your name on the can with a sharpie? Or maybe put the sodas in a brown bag with your name on it -- I doubt your boss will go rummaging through a lunchbag. You could just mention casually, "I noticed someone was taking my sodas, and I'd really appreciate if they'd stop." Or, stop using the fridge.
I doubt your boss will be angry at you for requesting she stop drinking your stuff.

Seriously, empty half of the bottle of soda and replace the half with pee. Do this for a couple days, she will be trained pretty quickly.
Dosage can subject to change upon your own pleasure.

Keep the can/bottle at your desk and pour it into a glass with ice at lunch or buy yourself one of those insulated lunch bags and keep it at your desk, in the bag with a re-freezable ice block to keep it chilled. If you remove it from temptation's reach, it will not disappear! ;-)
Or you could always buy a case of the drink and put a big red bow on it and leave it on her desk with a note to the effect that you noticed she really enjoyed your drink when you brought it in and thought she'd appreciate having her own. Hopefully she'll get the clue!

Put your name on it, if it doesn't work replace content with vinegar and see...
Also put it in locked container.
