a cd holds 700 MB .
Memory sticks - introduced by Sony Corp. are usually used as
saving space for other stuff ..like digital cameras, playstation...
You can use it for your PC through a memory stick reader... but, I don't think that's what you got it for.

Ok, 256MB is fairly big. You can store approximately 125 songs or 1000 Microsoft Word documents on there. The memory stick plugs into the USB port on your computer. If your computer runs on Windows XP (most new computers do), you just have to plug it in and the computer will install the software for it automatically.
To save data on the memory stick, click on My Computer, and then click on the drive for your memory stick (it's usually the E:\ drive). Any saved data should appear in this window. When you are saving something, select Save As and choose the E:\ drive. I hope this help you!

Unless you are moving large files large applications or movies it should store just about anything. You need to make sure its installed properly (if you are using windows XP it should detect it automatically when you plug it into your USB port). You can access your stick from my computer, the easiest thing to do is just drag and drop files onto it like you would a folder in windows.

Treat it just like a floppy drive. Plug it into a USB port, open My Computer, and copy/paste items into it. You can also open the doc, click Save As, and then choose the USB drive (probably drive E or F) as the location.
256MB can be alot or very little, depending on your needs. If you are dealing with documents, it should hold thousands if they are average size.

256mb not so big. They are also selling 512mb, 1gig, 4gig, ...
Price goes up with storage space.
You can estimate how much this means to you by displaying your folder contents. On the menu bar, click View, then click details. It will show you the size of each file. You will see that some graphics files can be huge, while straight text files are not so big.
