in my area. He beats up the kids, steals, gives the old folks a bad time. He is a real trouble maker.
Should I go to his place, with a few friends, and "Lay into his Family" So that he knows what it feels like?

Let's see how you read this?

Chances are his family is no good too. I think it is a good idea to get a group of friends together to support your community. If you really want to stop what's going on, start doing some positive things as a group like chores for the elderly people, get involved with the police and have them come over the neighborhood to speak to kids about drugs & violence, have the firemen come over and do the same, put a newsletter together about things going on in the neighborhood, etc. Get your community into the "Neighborhood Watch" or "Crime Watch" program, and they will come and put signs up in the neighborhood, etc. I don't see this being solved through confrontation, but positive activity will eventually suffocate the bad. Ofcourse, if you and your friends see this kid doing something to children or elderly, then I would approach him and ask him to discontinue or the police will be called. Make it known that his behavior is unacceptable. Good luck...

lets see, if you are a religious man, may I give you some verses, 1 Thessalonians 5:17: see that no one repays evil for evil, and then there's the verse that says bless your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, then there's the golden rule, do unto others as you would have done unto you

Absolutely, categorically not.

Taking the law into your own hands is not the answer. Your best bet is to talk to your local police community officer. If they don't do much, pester them until they do.

I'm not much for reading between the lines, as I'm not very good at it...

that sounds reasonable but your the one that would get prossecuted. send your mates round and you stay on yahoo so you got an alibi. or get your mates to yahoo for you and do it yourself, still got alibi. or just sit back and wait for old bill to do there job. he would be 65 by then and you wouldnt have to worry. go with your heart.

Just because they are his family they are not necessarily responsible for his actions and 'laying' into them would make you as bad as him
