I want to go to matc. I started filling out my fafsa, but I have to have a school code to finish it and I don't know what courses I need. I can't really afford school, but I need to further my education. If anyone knows of any good grants that would be great too. I have over 29,000 dollars in medical bills I am trying to pay. I will never be able to handle a loan as well. Besides I doubt anyone would give me one. I am stuck and don't really know where to go from here. Any advice would be appriciated. Be gentle.

Ya FAFSA is a great idea. They really help out with schooling and furthing you education. If you are interested in becoming a social worker, your major should be Psychology. You can speak with advising in the Psych department at the school you are planning to attend to get a feel for the requirements of that major. You will probably be given the chance to chose between a few classes they require you to take. You probably want to take most of the Development classes and for Social Work at my school they suggest you take classes on Community Psych and Counseling & Therapy. They are prob called something different at your school but something along those lines would be a great idea. Good luck!

Most social workers have a degree in Sociology. Many go on to get a Masters in Social Work (MSW).
