I have seen Tool about 8 times live and will have the chance to see them for the 1st time in about 4 years, next month. For anyone who has seen them live recently, are they still interesting to see perform live as they have been in the past??

I actually was going to ask a question somewhat like that. I'm going to see them next month as well, with my fiance who's a huge Tool fan. I dont know how many times he's seen them before, but this will be my first. He's always telling me how they put on the best shows ever and how impressed I'm going to be by their performace next month. He also tells me that I'll start loving them, or liking them at the very least, after I see them (I dont really like them, not my style of music).
What I was going to ask is this- since my fiance's always bragging about how badass their shows are, are they really as good, live, as he says they are, or is he simply exaggerating?
I'd like to know your, and maybe other people's, input in this.

I used to be a Tool tour groupie. I followed them everwhere, and I have seen the new concerts 2 times, 1 in san diego, and once right outside san diego and I have tickets to their las vegas show. I would say they are just as energetic as ever and sound just as good.
