That is a pound symbol. It depends on the fx rate at the time of conversion if 23.99 had a conversion rate of 1.8808 USD simply multiply 23.99 * 1.8808 which would be $45.12

This of course is using a daily exchange rate.

It is still POUNDS in England. (Although some places may accept Euros as well) Anyway, it all depends on the rate of exchange used and that varries from day to day, and also bank to bank. Still the variance isn't usually much and not enough to worry about for an ammount this small. 23.99 pounds should work out to be about $45 US give or take a buck or two. If you can pay by credit card, do it. This usually will get you a slightly better exchange rate.

Pounds is British money. Last month the rate of exchange was $1.833 US Dollars to 1 British Pound (we just got back from a trip there). So $23.99 Pounds is about 43.97 US Dollars.

1 pound = $2.00 - 2.50 normally. Plus royal airmail. I would look for the thing domestically.
