I do and I dont.
On a personal level, I wouldn't agree to my wife or girlfriend getting an abortion, because I feel that there would be no reason for her not to have our child. I wouldn't try to force her to do something she didn't want to do, but if she doesn't want to have a child with me, then we don't need to be together.
On a more general scale, I think that abortions should remain legal. I understand the religious and conservative standpoint on the matter, but that is why there is a difference between God's law and man's law. Women will still want abortions, even if they are illegal. What happens if you criminalize abortion is you remove the safety and control that the government now imposes. You would see a return of back-alley coat hanger abortions, with girls dying because safety measures were not in place. I don't think anyone wants that.
And just as a FYI, there are passages in the bible that actually _condone_ abortions. If you don't believe me, look it up.

I sit right on top of the fence, neither for it nor against it as I see both sides. I understand there are people out there that make a mistake and are not and can not take the responsibility. Yes I understand there is adoption but look at how many foster kids we have in the system now. I also understand those that say a fetus is a person and it's murder even though I wouldn't go to that extreme with it. You see, we live in the United States of America. We have the freedom to make choices and quite honestly I'm getting a little tired of our freedom getting taken away from us. Every time I turn around there passing some new law taking yet another freedom of ours away. Just live your life how you see fit and don't worry about what others choose to do with theirs.

Imagine a child being born out of rape. The mother might have big problems with that. The child would suffer from it it's whole life. Both the mother and the child would be punished for it.
Just an example.
Sometimes not being born is better then being born in a bad and unhealthy environment.

It could also be the next Hitler, and you don't know.

I am not particularly 'for' abortion, just pointing out a child born to an unwed mother with no support is not likely to thrive.

Also we already have a whole lot more people than this planet can actually support without a whole lot of technology.

Oh, and God performs abortions too. I am not talking miscarriages here. He performs them through famine, disease, earthquakes, war, random drive by shootings, etc.

No, I do not feel you should abort just because you do not want the child. As long is there is somewhere to place it.

Abortion to save the mother's life I am all for. Rape and incest, er, we would need to talk about it.

I don't agree with then for ANY reason.

If the baby will be born with abnormalities - love it whilst it's here.
If the woman already has lots of kids - give it up for adoption.
If the woman has been raped - something good will have come from a bad situation. The baby did nothing wrong.
As a form of contraception - the woman should be shot & have her legs glued together.
The mother has AIDS - there is a slim chance it could be passed onto the baby, but it is only a chance.

Spending more money on education is definitely needed to stop people from needing to murder their unborn child.

There is no nice way to go through with a termination either!! Woman can still be suffering from grief, guilt & loss 10 years after the termination. It is not a decision to be taken lightly.

I believe if the health of the mother and/or the child is in jeopardy, it should be allowed. When I got pregnant, my husband and I were ecstatic--this child was going to be the light of our lives. Then we found out it had severe Down's Syndrome. If I couldn't have had an abortion, I would have had to force a child to live that type of life. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself.

Because it is better for that fetus to never become a person than to be an unwanted child being shuffled from foster home to foster home, or a child being abused by parents who never wanted it.

I think the only people who should be concerned with abortion are pregnant women and the dudes who knocked them up.
