Ok so I just went to go pee at work and ran into this senerio and couldn't quite figure out the ettiqette. I didn't want to intrude on his call by flushing. I did however wash my hands. but tried to be as quiet as possible.

Absolutely. People have no clue what the correct eitquette is for cell phones - they use anytime, anywhere with no consideration for who is around them ro what is going on.

Yes, flush! That's what the toilet's for. The person talking on the phone on a business calls understands that people go in there to take care of other "business" too. So the flushing is the sound of "business".

Also, if you didn't flush, you'd be violating rules of ettiquette for the next person who uses the toilet or urinal.

The guy talking on the phone might flush with embarrassment if you flushed, but he should also understand the nature of the business.

Of course. A public bathroom is no place to take a call. If he is embarrassed, then he should not have taken the call there in the first place.

If you are not going to flush, are you going to wait for the person to finish his/her call before you flush? You would have to wait on that person until he/she is done. That is ridiculous. You have better things to do.

If he wants to talk on the phone in the toilet, why should it be a problem flushing the urinal? It's just his bad luck you needed to flush the urinal, and not your problem.

Flush.

You're following standard restroom procedure. He is the one doing something in there that was not it's intended purpose.

He should view it as a foreseeable consequence of his actions.
