Do you think its possible to resist doing cocaine even if they havent quit drinking? wouldnt you agree that they go hand in hand? this person has done cocaine alot. But seems to tell me they can go without doing it for months...but he still drinks alot and I just have this feeling he is also using cocaine.

for example this person is out at the bar drinking wouldnt they start craving cocaine?

If you've been addicted to cocaine or booze or another hard drug, you will always crave it at times. To resist this craving you have to be strong. If you're drinking, you get a "what the hell"feeling and you might give in to the craving easier. By the way: cocaine s*cks but booze is just as bad. It may be a legal drug but it's just as addicting, just as difficult to quit and it destroys you braincells just as easy. I think this person is drinking a lot to fill the void he feels since he stopped doing coke. Replacing one addiction with another, usually doesn't do the trick. You friend is an addict, and that's a big problem. If this person is your lover you might seriously consider breaking off the relationship.

They can. It all depends on the person. How bad they was hooked on it.
Me personally, I can't be even around a environment that may or may not have the stuff around. Was hooked on it pretty bad, back in the old days. I have been sober for a little over 2 and a half years. The bad thing is you never know where it may be. You might go to the grocery store, and there is one of your old friends that can hook you up. You just have to be strong, and determined. I don't drink, so I don't know if that could trigger the addiction to cocaine. but like someone else said, both are addictions, and they both need to be addressed.

Good luck!

Yea cocaine is one that is hard on you and you want to quit when your down. U can do alot of that ****. Getting drunk will get you to start thinking about taking getting high on blow and gettin up. Unless you go through lossing everything you wont seem to get what it is all worth, and will keep blowin it slowly as we go. We all make choices that we have to live with and if this is where the joy is found then living without it is unthinkable at this time. Get off the ****.

The two can show a correlation, however they don't have to depend on one another. The crave for one can be totally different than the other and not necessarily needed at the same time.

You are talking about two different addictions. Both should be addressed but there could be a triggering condition between one and the other. Just like drinking and smoking. Most who do both smoke more when they drink.

yes and no. it doesn't really go hand n hand, but if it is offered to them it is really hard to say no.
