It is more dense. You pack trash down, but you pack groceries lightly as to not damage them.

You throw away stuff every day. When you get groceries you may not get lots. So the your trash gets piled up and it is heavier then your groceries. I hope I help.

It probably doesn't, but you have to remember that things get smashed together in the trash. When you bring groceries home you're careful that they all stay in good shape, 'cuz you have to eat this stuff.. but after you eat, you have containers and I dunno banana peels and stuff, and they all pack together in a mishmash.. so you end up with a lot more stuff in the bag.

You probably throw out junk mail and stuff too, so there's a bit more weight.

I don't think you have 30 gallons of groceries, do you? Most of the grocery bags aren't that big or hold that much or the bag would rip.

Your food weakens you. You throw out your food scraps and such. You feel that it is heavier, but in fact it is not heavier.
