My friends just had a baby that live in Jamaica. We would like to send them some type of gift. Is there a store near Westmoreland Parish that we would be able to purchase gift cert at? Or If we send them a check, can they cash it without a bank account in Jamaica? Any ideas? We know they need the help, and would greatly appreciate it.

Well I live in jamaica but I live in kingston so i'm not sure about the gift certificate thing. If u send them a cheque (check) then they'd have to lodge it to there bank account and it would take as long as 3 months to clear. U can ask them for an account number and do a direct transfer of funds from your bank account to theirs or you could use a money transfer service like western union to send them some funds which i think is the best thing since you say they "need" help. Good luck! I hope everything works out with them and their newborn.

Send them cash Via western Union of Money Gram, Over seas gift certificate will not work in Jamaica, or you could buy the baby things and send it by FedEx

Give them a gift certificate to an online store. Just make sure they ship to Jamaica!

They have stores all over the Island, and your friends can either pick up your gifts at their local SuperPlus or have them delivered.

well what your friend can do is get a usa mailbox(they don't do uk) she can get it online or in jamaica you can buy her whatever you want send it to her usa address which will be shipped to her. or you can always use western union.
