self scan / U-scan???
Come on these things are pointless......

Because the don't recognize all of the barcodes, and they take forever to accept your credit card, half of them are out of order, and usually you have to get a cashier to come over and help you anyway, so what's the point?

It is supposed to save time but it dosen't quite work out that way when you have to re-scan items over and over before it will register or when you are asked by the computer to clear out your last item or when, out of the blue, the computer will stop scanning and say assistance is needed.
Sounds like more of a hassle to me. . . .

I think if I have to scan stuff myself I should at least get 10% off my total. I never use them because it's just a way for a store to screw the consumer and put more money in their pocket.

Part of the price you pay at a store is for a cashier to check you out. Everytime you use one of those things you're just ripping yourself off.

I like them when no one is in front of me, because I can get out of the store much quicker that way. I hate it when there is some freakin moron in front of me though that has no clue how to use them.

When they first came out I though it would be cool, but then everytime I tried to use it the damn thing kept saying place item in bag!!!

I like them. If you only have a few items they work just fine. More than that and you will surely be in trouble though!
