There is no way to "prove" spiritual beliefs to another person. What you connect with in your own experience, what helps you in our own journey, is what matters. As for whether or not there is life of the soul beyond physical life... I can't answer that for you, but if you live as if you are somehow accountable beyond this life, maybe it would inspire you to live better, to work harder to evolve past the same old mistakes. :)

It´s first of all logic. Second it is proofed by authorities in spiritual matters. If you want to know about things you can`t grasp with your limited senses and brain you have to approach someone that has.
There is no other way for now. Take logic as far as possible, then inquire from a true spiritual master and the sastras, revealed scriptures like the vedic texts. If you would ask that Question in India people would crack up laughing, there everyone, even the child knows that Reincarnation is not a Theory, a believe or anything but a fact! I give you only one example here if you would like to contact me by mail, feel free.
You are aware of your body and it`s spontaneous functions, you are aware of the function of your mind, and you are aware of how your intelligence is working ...but you are neither of that! You are the obnserver within the gross and subtle bodies. You are Conciousness, the soul. You are not feeling, otherwise you would be gone with the wind , as feelings come and go. You are not the body since all 7 years almost all cells in your body decay and are replaced you would be gone already many times but you are not.
So already in this very life you have experienced a form of transmigration.
When this present body will become useless by the influence of time you will havbe to leave that gross body and accept another one, according to your state of mind. That is like changing clothes. People in the west call this death but it is not death of antimatter, conciousness because this will never die, it is by nature eternal.

Radha

At every moment, from the time of conception to the time of death, our bodies are constantly changing. According to biology, every 7 years every cell is replaced at least once. So if we are the body, which body are we? No remnants of the fetus remain by age 7, etc. So are we the fetus, the child, youth, or the elderly body? All through these changes, we remain the same person, the same indentity. If the brain provided that constant awareness of being one identity, why don't we 'reboot' when those brain cells are replaced?
Some take the mind to be our identity and at least this is a more plausible explanation. But the mind also changes and develops through our lives. And we also see that some don't have much of a mind or are deranged, yet have all the other characteristics of being alive. The deranged may imagine themselves as being someone else, but everyone else sees them as the same person they always were. So the mind's condition doesn't determine our real identity.
This is logical inference only to this point, but I wanted to point these out so it was clear that transmigration of the soul is not some blind faith and not without a logical basis. Our identity is pure spirit soul and this is actually the most logical explanation of what we are, why we are here, how we have the circumstances of our lives, etc Ultimately, though, empirical "proof" of spiritual existence is not possible by using only material faculties. By definition spirit is transcendental to matter and since all of our senses and the instruments we use with them are material, we cannot have direct perception of the soul with our mind and senses. Its like trying to prove that the temperature outside is 80 degrees by taking a photograph. A camera is the wrong tool for the job. What's needed is purified consciousness. When our consciousness has been cleared of the misconceptions that cloud it, then we can understand the nature of our spiritual identity, how we move from one body to another life after life, how we are recieving the results of our actions (karma) etc. The science of purification of consciousness is called self-realization. Its a 'subjective' science in that its results are not apparent to anyone but the practitioner. If I eat a big meal and become full, can I prove my satisfaction to someone else? My satisfaction is self-knowledge and isn't something anyone else can know.
Apart from logic, we can also go to an authority for an explanation. Almost everyone reasonable accepts an authority from time to time and we invest faith in them to get information which is not easy for us to access. And this case, understanding the nature of the soul, is one of those situations. So to go to an authority for that understanding would be a good idea. The best authority for this knowledge would be the Supreme Personality of Godhead. I won't get into whether or not God exists here, thats another question. I'll assume for the time being that He does exist. That being the case, He would naturally be the best authority here, since He is, by definition, the source of the soul.
So my study of the subject leads me to the Bhagavad-gita which the Lord instructed to His devotee Arjuna approximately 5,000 years ago, just prior to the present age. Although the whole Bhagavad-gita has bits and pieces here and there that address all of your questions, I would focus on chapter two for info about the nature of the soul and its transmigration. You can read an online edition at the link below.
The loop (called the wheel of samsara in Sanskrit) finishes when we become self-realized and become immersed in transcendental activities. Its material activities that keep us bound to the cycle of birth and death and so transcendental activities, the pure devotional service of the Lord, liberate us. When we are pure in thought, desire, and action we become qualified to get the direct association of the Supreme Lord in one of the innumerable spiritual planets of Vaikuntha, the transcendental world. All of this is discussed in the gita also.

The choice is made when you stand before (your idea of) God awaiting your chance to be reborn. Every life is an opportunity to learn lessons that help your soul to grow. The lessons you choose to learn, from those who need to learn, shapes/defines your next life.
(to the previous answerers) People have the right to believe what they wish, telling them not to believe in transmigration is the same as living in a dictatorship that leaves no room for personal expression. Believe what you like, but try to have an open mind.

If one can grasp the idea that there is a continuation of life after the one we now live, would that not help people to try and improve the world they now live in? Once one gets on the 'high road' you find that you align yourself with people who can care about others and thats what moves ones soul forward. The care, the shareing of benefits. Whats interesting is that many religous books talk about this but its not what the religous leaders talk about, or even focus on. In chosing then, we choose who by goals. Often times we have to behave in spite of what were told, that is, to go the lesser followed path. Haven't you ever heard that life is the journey? If enough souls are on it, then it is forever for everything loves life.

I agree with you. It is not wise of people to choose transmigration of soul. There is no real proof of all this.

It is not real.
People are afraid to die, so they make up a "transmigration of souls" and pretend that they will live forever.
Get over it, just like you are mature enough to realize that there is no Santa, you should be mature enough to realize that you will someday die -- i.e. COMPLETELY cease to exist.
