This is for a talent contest. It has to be something that will showcase her voice. Cute, fun, strong...not too childish

She has sung many many times before and does not need something that is too easy to remember. She can sing basically any song with practice...we are just having a hard time deciding-thought I would get some outside opinions! I want a song you would hear on the radio not something like the wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider etc. She is WAY beyond those!

I do let her pick we just like to have lots of songs on her maybe list...then she listens to all of them and narrows it down to a top favorite five...then we go over them all and decide which one we think is best. Thanks for all the input so far!

Some good suggestions - Castle on a cloud and Tomorrow both good suggestions.
Here are some others: I Believe I can Fly; Joy to The World (by Three Dog Night, not the Christmas Carol), Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Maybe (also from Annie), Somewhere Out There,

Has the kid seen High School Musical? If so, any of the songs from the movie soundtrack are really cute!

If he/she hasn't seen HSM, then i recommend something by Hilary Duff. She has some songs that are super cute, too! I hope this helps!

From the "Sound of Music"- the song -" My favorite things"

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolin' mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string...
These are a few of my favorite things... etc, etc..........

Show tunes and musicals are usually written to grab your attention. Songs on the radio are ok, but when singing them you have to be careful not to sound like you are cloning the song. Make it your own, try NOT to sound just like whosie-whatsie.

Well, when I was younger, I enjoyed singing "Tomorrow" from Annie or you may want to consider "Castle on A Cloud" from Les Miserables.

It's The Good Ship Lolly-pop
It is very cute song to see young kids sing
But if you kid is a boy I probably would not go with that.
