How's the weather? Is it fun living in a huge city?

I live in a small town.

I live an hour and a half from Tokyo. I think it is fun to VISIT but I couldn't live there. The traffic, the lines and the congestions would get to me. That aside, yes, it is a very fun city!! There are lots of things to do and the nightlife is incredible. It is an expensive city so people always take trains and many people commute from far away.

In the summer, it is hot and humid and in the winter it can be quite chilly.

Tokyo is awesome man.
Ever been to NYC? Very similar. Just make NYC cleaner and safer and a bit friendlier.
Of course Tokyo cannnot match up to the ethnic diversity NYC but they are very close.

The weather is Japan weather. Nice and balmy during spring time. Then the rainy season kicks in for a month, then it's summer with the humidity. Gets real hot in TOkyo and AC is a must. Atumn is nice a bit breezy at times but probably the perfect time to go out and take long walks. WInter however is cold as hell. And yes it does snow in Tokyo during the winter. Usually not more than 3-4 days.

As for living in a city it's got it's ups and downs.
Taking the train may be fun for the first couple of months but once you get used to it, you start to hate it because so many people are invading your personal space. Rush hour is crazy.
I'm surprised more people are not killed.
The crowd in the city areas are just nuts, although really fun to watch from a distance. And everywhere you go there is always traffic, smog, angry and unhappy people.

But the city is also exciting.
The nightlife's pletiful. You wake up in the middle of the night and feel like getting some good J food chances are there's a nice restaurant open just walking distance away. Everything is so convenient and service oriented that you feel like you're the king of the world at times.
I think the best thing about Tokyo is that the modernized new is co-existing in a city together with the traditional old.
Just walking around Tokyo you'll find old buildings and temples right next to modern apartment buildings and skyscrapers.

Right now I live in LA. WHich is nice too but I sure do miss the Tokyo city life. Of course I like small towns too. Sometimes the city life can get on your nerves so much that you feel like just bolting outta there.

Well man, not from Tokio, although I was there last week (work)...
I'm a costarrican and live in Bangkok (Thailand) for over a year now... so, I know how it is been from a small town and living in a great city...
I love the small town, everybody knows each other and you have friends to trust and love... if you play well, your town will love you and respect you... and it will be even more rewarding walking head up loud while the young chicks look at you and dream...
In the other hand, now I know how great is living in a place where I got everything (I mean everything) as I open the door from my nice apartment in a 16th floor... you get to love the great cities... yes...
Tokyo was crazy and noisy but it has some sour of mystical magic underneath that make you wanna go back sometime...
Is really up to you what you enjoy the most...
In Japan in general, it rains a lot and is worm most of the year... but still ok to walk all over...
If you like high tech as I do, you may find the place very interesting like for a trip, but definitely not for living there...
All my friends from small towns living in big cities, always dream about going home... but truly, I feel very nice and warm working and living in Bangkok...

I lived in Tokyo for three months and it's a blast. The food is great, the people are wonderful, and there's so much to see! On top of that, the public transportation is great. You can get anywhere on the subway. This is especially helpful since the traffic is so awful. The winters are mild, depending upon what you're used to. I live in Pittsburgh and thought it was warm most of the time. It only snowed once or twice and there was no accumulation. I've heard it's very hot and humid during the summer. It's an amazing city though, and I'd love to go back. My biggest complaint is that it's so expensive.

I've escaped from Tokyo... too many people on the trains during the rush hour and I couldn't stand the perverts (chikan), my bosses were jerks and too much politics at work, and people are so conservative and we are supposed to read each other's minds...

And why do I miss that city? Maybe because of the food (I love Sushi!). Maybe because of the interesting architectures. Maybe because Japanese people have morals in general. Or maybe because of that 24 hour drinking...

Today? It's fine day today. less cloud, dazzling sunshine. And very hot. The week alexnaturals came was bad week. Rainy season dragged this year.
Spring and Autumn are nice season to visit.
And it is safe place. Both man and woman walk around alone even 11PM to midnight.
