They're in the best division in baseball, right now, so it will be tough. They can do it, if:
1) They get Liriano back (and pitching well) by early September
2) Punto, Bartlett, and Mauer keep getting on base
3) Mourneau, Cuddyer, and Hunter keep driving them in
4) Their middle relievers continue to pitch as well as they have
If all that happens, we'll definitely see the Twins in the playoffs.

I do believe the Twins are going to make the playoffs. The White Sox lineup has began to sputter these days, and Thome's injury from final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days will probable slow him down back interior the cooler months as began to this summer. despite the fact that, the Twins are rather green whilst it consists of positioned up-season play. Mauer and Morneau the two can carry any group in baseball, and Santana is a attainable CY youthful or maybe an MVP candidate (effective piece of trivialities, Roger Clemens replaced into the final starter to win the MVP). Santana is only 1 guy in a questionable rotation, and different than for Joe Nathan, i do no longer see any indication that the bullpen is that fairly greater helpful. i think of the San Francisco Giants will win the NL Wildcard, the Twins will win the AL Wild Card. the international series would be between the recent york Mets and the Oakland A's, with the Mets triumphing in 5. Cheers.

They are coming on strong right now and the compitition is weak. Neither the Yanks or the Redsox act like they want to sew up the wildcard. Detroit has played over their heads all year. The Whitesox act like they don't like winning any more. Highly possible at this point. Especially if the Twins can get good pitching. They still have to beat out the rest of the Central and West contendors and possibly Toronto.

Sorry, no. While they momentarily passed the White Sox, who slumped badly in July, they won't finish ahead of Chicago. There's not enough power in their lineup (besides Morneau), so they end up having to manufacture runs, and the loss of Liriano leaves a huge hole in their rotation.

It will all depend on the weekend series with Chicago. I know Detroit will slump, as they always have in September. Go Twinkies!!! The next World Champs!!!!
