You pirated a copy of Windows.
If you purchase 1 Disc you got 1 Key.
1 Key per PC

2 PC mean that only 1 works now because the other is illegal.

Buy a 2nd key or buy a volume license if you did this to any other PC you own.

It probably is the fact that you aren't supposed to install WinXP on 2 PCs at once from the same disc. You are only supposed to use one disk per PC (hence, you would have to buy two copies). A new update from Windows Update makes the PC "call home" every day to make sure that your copy of Windows isn't pirated.

no offence but a lot more info is needed next time you have a problem.
secondly do a system restore if this works it is because you have try´d to update xp(1 licence) on two pc´s and the windows validation tool has blocked the function of one of the pc´s.
if you go back to windows and try to upgrade the non working pc when it is back working ms will ask you to purchase a new licence for the copy of windows on that pc.

Its not your copie of XP, you need to be more specific with the problem.

Microsofts stance on XP home is one copy on your PC the other on your Laptop. no more though! So you can use the same copy on more than one machine.....i know because ive done it.

You can't run two pc's from one XP license. When you do upgrades, it checks both of them against a list to see if duplicates have been made. One of them got disabled.

You need to buy another license from microsoft.
