Well seeing as how your whole statement is a duplicate of what Randle says to a customer in the Clerks 2 movie, I'd say you are the idiot. Without an original thought in your head.
The LOTR movies have a ton of action and special effects as well as stunning scenery and very in depth characters. If it's not your cup of tea that's fine don't watch them, but if you haven't watched them, then you really shouldn't have a comment on them because you have NO CLUE what you are talking about. Since you have no clue you decided to steal a few lines from a Piece of crap movie like clerks 2 and try to make yourself seem like you know something...Well you don't

People love fantasy movies because they allow them to believe in a better place than they live in. They liked Lord of the rings in particular because it is a story they grew up with, that they could share with their children and that fit the times we live in, when people are thinking about war and the end of the world as we know it. They also found some of the actors and actresses hot. It also was an action film and people love sword play and battle sequences. A little of everything for everyone.

The masses are not the smartest people to crawl across this planet. I believe the popularity is found in the way they can now say they have particapated in a huge book series without ever having to pick up an actual book and attempt to read. Now I love sword and sorcery books and I enjoy several heroic fantasy adventure series, and the masses usually criticize my choices simply because ignorance IS bliss. To criticize something that you will never ever give the time of day to just shows their short comings.

Well reading the book was interesting and they cut a lot of the book out in the movie. It is the struggle of Good V.S. Evil and the fate of an entire cont. at stake, plus there was 13,000 years of history building up to hobbit and many things happened. Now in the entended versions they address some of these things.

Maybe if you would have read the books, it would have inspired your imagination to have enjoyed the movie. It's an adventure, an adult fairy tale, a classic myth. Young and old alike have enjoyed it, but I found from reading the book that I liked the movie. If I didn't know or understand the story may not have liked the movie.

You have no interest in posing a question, you don't care about the answer yet you spent time writing to call people who like a movie you hate 'idiots'. Who is the idiot here?
"what can men do against such reckless hate?"

Because people all like to dress up and pretend, or 'role-play' and with this movie they can, it's like the dungeons and dragons of movies pretty much. People like to pretend that they aren't living their own life, they have to escape it somehow, so like a junkie uses their drugs to escape the real world a Lord of the Rings fan get into their 'character' to escape it.

LOTR has been around long before Playstation and X-box 360. They didn't have malls either. People used to read for fun. There are fans a lot older and smarter than you.

I'm with you I thought it was a bad movie. Boring, long and unexciting. The books were so much better. It might appeal to people who mistake vulgar abuse as an argument.

because the books were great ,and written way before you were thought of. The movies had great cinematography, great special effects, for those who like fantasy adventure they were great. Sorry you didn't like it, but everyone has different taste.
