i've tried encoding them as .mp4, but they won't play. do they have to be a certain resolution or something? what software works?

The best way is, if you have a card reader [ if not , you can get a 10 in 1 card reader for 15 pound ] then its just a case of moving the file into MSSEMC-MEDIA FILES - video, you will know you have the wrong sort of file, cos it won't have the play option! You could get something like Nero 7 start smart which recodes most file types to most file types .

they have to be 3GP files.. you can use the lead that came with the phone ..or, Bluetooth them... you can get some good video's if you sign upto ZEDGE.COM
