So I have gestional Diabetes and I just found out yesterday that I might be induced Monday.. For those of you who have been induced, what does it feel like? And are is there anything I should worry about besides the common pain worries? I'm really freaking out cause it was something I was never told and i'm worried the baby wont be developed enough. I'll be 39 weeks on Monday

Babies are now considered full term at 38 weeks. There is nothing to worry about. Your child has had plenty of time considering the risks of waiting.

Induction can actually be more painful than natural labor so I recommend getting the epidural.

Its fine...I had the prosteglandin gel inserted up by my cervix twicw (8 hours apart) and then the next day they started me on the oxytocin drip. THe contractions have a little moe punch to them. But its fine. You baby is fully developed at 39 weeks. You can deliver at 38 weeks as well. All the baby does in the last 2 weeks is put on weight. And with tyour diabetes...then the baby s big enough now. I was induced at 39 weeks due to kidney and liver failure...and I had a full term 8lb and 4 oz 24"long baby boy. Good luck!!

I was inducent 2 days before my due date 9 well they tried) IF YOUR BABY ISNT READY HE WONT COME OUT they tried EVERYTHING for matthew to come out they will try precidures if ur not 3 cm SO U MIGHT NOT GO THAT DAY IT DEPENDS I was a 1 whenI went into the hospital and they did 3 precedures on me first like a pill then cream and then tha string that was VERY uncomfortable! and the next day I only dialted a half of a centimeter! So they released me on my due date and told me to come back Mon and that was a sat. And I went home and had lotsa SEX and when i came back i was barely a 3 BUT it went quick for me I was in active labor for 17 Minuites
IT WAS GREAT!!!

theres nothing to be worried about honestly if the doctors are wanting to induce me its only for your babys own good I had hypothyroidisim and they thought he might be born stillbirthed thats why they induced me but I ended up going over 2 EVERYBODYS DIFFERENT THO but 39 weeks is DEFF OKAY!

My fear with induction is if your body isn't ready and resists the induction you can end up with a c-section. As for 39 weeks...the baby is plenty ready. 38-40 weeks is considered a full term baby. Besides, you might go into labor before Monday and inducement will be a non-issue. Good luck hope everything goes smoothly.

Your baby will be just fine...Anything after 37 weeks is considered full-term. You could go into labor naturally on your own by then.

I am having a planned C-SEction at 39 weeks.

That is the good news.......

Inducement was really hard for me.......With pitosin, your body does not get a chance to rest between contractions......so my advice....don't play saint....get some help with drugs if you need too. I didn't for 22 hours and I regret that.

Besides the pain being there, I didn't have time to collect myself and say, ok, I'm ok, he's ok and I got pretty upset.

Also, you can't get up and walk around...so ask for medication if you need it.

My sister-in-law was induced and had the baby within 6 hours, this was her fourth baby and she really didn't think it was worse than the others at all....she had drugs!

So, who knows!

Good luck!

baby will be fine, baby's can be born safely from 37wks. i was induced with my first child and went into spontaneous labour with my second. i can honestly say induction was more painful laboring, i had my second child two weeks ago and was very pleasant experience, the onset of labour with induction is artificial and a very different pain to natural, so if you struggle with the pain don't be afraid to ask for pain relief (epidural is the only form of pain relief to totally numb the pain away). only talking from own experiences.

You'll be fine. The baby will be fine. With induction, labor usually goes faster, so the pain might be harder sooner than you expect. But its totally safe. And its probably the best option for your child or the doctor wouldn't suggest it.

your baby is fine and should be ready to come into this world. it will hurt alot.alot worse than if you went into labor on your own. my advice would be to walk walk walk and have sex with orgasim if possible.
