Well actually I'm in the process of quitting. I know it's not good for me, but I've been smoking since I was 15. I have stopped a couple of times only to start again when I encounter highly stressly situations in life. When I stop, I usually stop for about 6 months or more.

I have been smoking since I was 16. It's an addiction. cigarettes have chemicals which cause you to become addicted to them and nicotine in intself is highly addictive. I have been trying to stop but it is very hard. Believe it or not I actually hate the smell and taste of them now, but something just keeps drawing me to smoke them.
The only thing that made me stop was pregnancy and breastfeeding. But after the last drop of milk dried up...I went and got a pack. I know it's said but cigarettes are just as bad as any drugs out there as far as addiction is concerned.

Good question, I ask myself that everyday. I have been smoking for 8 years and was able to quit when I was pregnant but started right back after I had them. I need to get myself motivated again and hopefully I can kick this nasty habit....*takes drag from cigarette*..... but honestly, I have no will power, it's not an excuse... it's just even when I don't have any in the house I am constantly thinking of going and buying some.

I enjoy smoking...why should I stop? I realize the health hazzards but I could get hit by a mac truck tomorrow so I might as well live in the here and now opposed to what may happen in the future

I do smoke, and I do want to stop. I am totally addicted. If you have never smoked, you just don't really realize how addicting tobacco really is. I know its bad for me, but I love to smoke! I don't smoke in my house only driving to work and outside. I whish you had posted any easy way to quit!

It's called an addiction for a reason. If it wasn't addicting, it wouldn't be a problem now, would it? I quit smoking several times and I'm still trying. It's diffucult so be a little sensitive to people who are struggling.

Quitting smoking is very easy (for me at least)... my problem is that I like to have a few drinks every now and then. when I get drunk, I get that 'I dont give a fk' attitude which makes me want to get something to smoke.

I won't stop because for now, the craving is stronger than I am. It sucks. If anyone is reading this who hasn't started smoking yet --
DON'T!!!
