The police are supposed to uphold the rule of law. So if you were breaking the law (even a bye-law) they were quite within their rights to stop you so doing, even though it may be considered that they could have been spending their time more usefully, looking for someone who was committing a more serious criminal offence. Suppose you were 80 years old however, and were taking a gentle stroll in that same local park, which stroll would take you down (or up) the said stairset. Perhaps then you may have felt threatened and apprehensive about this "gang of youths" speeding around on skateboards. And your walking up or down the stairset is a legal activity. The skateboarders weren't acting within the law. Wouldn't you then be inclined to think more kindly towards these same policemen for protecting your right to take your stroll?

As long as you don't do anything that's against the law then don't worry. Have a good time and get to know him and what he does in his spare time so you don't just see him as a cop.

just don't spark up a doobie and you'll be fine!!! hehehe! Police officers are not SO brilliant....nor are they psychologists...or they wouldn't be cops. I have people in my family who are cops....they're just regular people.

Well cops are human first, just be yourself and have a good time. Maybe ask him what made him choose his carreer and would he ever arrest his gf/wife.

they are human just like you are. i have dated a cop and he knows some of the wrong things i do. it may be to your advantage to get hooked up with a cop.

It's not like that. Just be yourself and have a good time. He's not looking to be on the job, anyway, he's looking to spend time with you.(There's plenty of work to be done AT work without us looking for it when we're off).
